Thought of the week

December 1, 2019

Be thankful

Despite a really crappy 2019, I have a lot to be thankful for. I’m pretty sure you do too.

Even if you’ve had a year of family fights and work woes, chances are you’re surrounded by people who love you.

Sometimes it may feel like you’re all alone, but if you just reach out to a longtime friend, you’ll be surprised at how loved you really are.

I don’t want to.

Some days the only thing I want to do is sit on the couch and binge-watch the latest Netflix series.

Then, I remind myself there is a world outside.

The only way to experience life is to get out and live it.

The next time you feel down, get up and walk outside. Those steps will change your outlook on the day, and possibly on yourself.

Building healthy habits

The couch is calling. Work is overwhelming. The last thing you want to do is workout or cook a healthy meal.

But, if you make these duties part of your every day routine it just becomes a habit.

Give yourself a time zone to work out, instead of a dedicated time every day. It makes it easier to do.

Spend an hour or two on Sunday prepping those healthy meals, so by Wednesday you’re not going through the drive through.

Then, you’ll have plenty of time to join your friend: the couch.

Soundtrack of your life

At any given time, you probably have a favorite song. And, with time it probably changes.

The soundtrack of our lives is telling. It can highlight how we’re feeling at any given time.

Right now there are two songs that will cause me to break out in dance by the mere melody: “Everything’s gonna be alright” and “Good as hell.”

Seems easy enough.
